Office Manager / Operations Analyst

Third I, Inc. is a small, fast-growing data analytics consulting firm based in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia. We build expert solutions in business intelligence and data warehousing for Global 1000 clients in media, retail, financial services, and other industries. What we need:

This position provides a unique opportunity for a high-caliber entry level candidate to gain experience in many facets of business management. Aside from receiving visitors and maintaining the office, you will also support (and perhaps eventually lead!) efforts in HR, accounting, event planning, marketing and sales.

You are adaptable, resourceful and highly organized. You are comfortable and confident in a professional setting and you project a warm, friendly personality. You are tech-savvy, excited to learn, interested in consulting and ambitious to use this position to launch your career. You have a creative side and you maintain attention to detail. You have the perception to see what needs to be done and the initiative to step up and do it yourself.

This role requires -- and rewards -- initiative, resourcefulness, personality and curiosity. In our ideal situation, a candidate would stay in this role for about two years, train her / his successor, then advance into another role.

You may not “check every box” in the above description on day one, but you have the courage to try and with patience, persistence, training and mentoring, you will get there.

What you’ll be doing:

Office Management

  • Receiving office visitors
  • Keeping the office looking good, properly supplied and operating smoothly
  • Planning team events and activities, including our annual holiday dinner

Operations​ & HR

  • Helping with recruiting, on-boarding new employees and helping employees with their questions
  • Assisting with accounting, including paying bills, producing invoices and generating reports
  • Filing and managing documentation related to business contracts and agreements
  • Catching whatever is thrown and working together with all of us to build a great company

Marketing & Sales

  • Assisting with all aspects of Third I's marketing and business development activities
  • Helping with keeping Third I's website and social media up to date
  • Assisting sales executives with the preparation of budget, sales, and forecast reporting

What you’ve already done:

  • Earned your Bachelors degree with coursework in business, and preferably technology
  • Had experience in a business environment
  • Repeatedly demonstrated a willingness to raise your hand and serve in a leadership role – even unofficially – in work, school, extra-curricular activities, volunteering, and other activities

Skills to Succeed:

Must Have: Organization skills & habits, initiative, resourcefulness, professionalism, friendly personality
Want: Attention to detail, quick learner, flexible, “Digital Native” - MS Office, cloud apps (e.g. Gmail)
Preferred: Creative (e.g. writing or visual design), ambitious, perceptive, interested in consulting
Bonus: Programming, database, previous exposure to consulting
Extra Bonus: WIX configuration and content management

Foundation to Launch:

A Bachelor’s degree with a business or technology related major
Previous experience in a professional setting – internships, part-time, summer are all acceptable
Ability to travel occasionally (<10%) for conferences
Bonus points for familiarity with business intelligence software (e.g. MicroStrategy, Tableau, Qlikview, MS Power BI, etc)
