What we need:  

The Data Wrangling Consultant is part of the core team that launches new clients and ensures the ongoing success of client implementations. This role requires both interpersonal skills to interface with clients and solid process and technical skills to help build a toolset and methodology that will be applied across many engagements.

A Data Wrangling Consultant is the technical liaison that bridges sales, product, engineering and client success teams. He/she will on-board new clients, build new API integrations, propose feature improvements and document best practices. A technical understanding of the Marketing and Ad Tech world is a plus -- a passion for figuring out solutions to complex problems in our clients’ business is a must. The person in this role brings a positive attitude, excellent time management skills and works relentlessly to ensure that our customer’s experience is nothing short of stunning. 

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Gather data and business requirements in customer-facing workshops, conference calls and in-person meetings
  • Translate vaguely scoped ideas into effective solutions using product functionality and JSON configuration to cleanse, enrich and load customer marketing data into a proprietary database format
  • Capture and maintain process documentation and best practices in Confluence
  • Create QA dashboards to catch gaps and anomalies in customer data feeds
  • Understand, maintain and enhance existing client implementations
  • Write scripts in groovy, ruby, python, java or javascript to automate repetitive tasks
  • Help to build a standard library of scripts for use across accounts for common data interfaces (Facebook, Google Analytics, Twitter, etc)

  • Resourcefulness and initiative to work around problems, learn new technologies and achieve results

Technical

  • Computer science or similar degree
  • Expert using SQL and scripting languages (e.g. python) and libraries (e.g. pandas) for data analysis
  • Familiar with unix command line tools
  • Understand core principles of programming including data structures and performance implications of code execution
  • Proficient using Excel to analyze datasets

Subject matter

  • Familiarity with some common marketing data sources such as Google Analytics, Facebook or Twitter
  • Curiosity to better understand the marketing analytics space

 

Bonus Points:

  • Exposure to the world of marketing or marketing analytics
  • Understanding of databases, tagging, and business intelligence/analytics tools
  • Experience with data science or predictive analytics
  • Knowledge of ETL tools such as SSIS, DataStage or Talend
